Improving movement and identity across two campuses
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College engaged us to improve how students, staff and visitors experience and navigate the school environment. The goal was to support a greater sense of independence and safety across both campuses, with wayfinding that works intuitively for everyone.

Wayfinding

To do this, the existing system needed to be reviewed and rethought. The brief called for a solution that would:
Integrate naturally into the environment without drawing undue attention
Work across a mix of architectural styles and building eras
Establish a stronger and more coherent identity for each campus
We partnered with the College to shift the role of wayfinding from something people needed to figure out, to something they could rely on instinctively. From planning through to implementation, the work focused on clarity, simplicity and community fit.

Wayfinding also plays a key role in shaping the public image of a school. For private and independent colleges, the arrival experience, signage language and sense of order all contribute to perceptions of quality and care. A clear, confident system helps reinforce the brand and values of the institution.
Students told us the new system was "easier to read" and "harder to get lost." Staff and regular users adopted it quickly. Visitors, casual staff and contractors reported that they could find their way confidently, without needing to ask for directions. Entrances and reception areas now support better movement patterns, and the overall system is more legible and welcoming.

As Richard Liistro, Director of Communications, put it:
"I was kept up to date throughout the process, from strategy to implementation. Humanics Collective's information and communication was prompt. The result: brilliant and seamless. The new system has transformed how students move around the campus."
