The new CIT Woden campus is a flagship educational development for southern Canberra, designed by Gray Puksand to act as a civic gateway between learning, transport, and public life. Its striking timber architecture creates a warm, grounded environment—one that called for a signage system with the same level of care and clarity.

Wayfinding

Engaged by Lendlease, our role has focused more on how the signage supports and complements the architectural intent than on simply providing directions. From the beginning, the emphasis has been on integration: designing elements that feel like a natural part of the building, not an afterthought. That means refined material choices, careful placement, and a visual tone that aligns with the building’s calm, confident personality.

The wayfinding is purposefully restrained. Instead of overwhelming the space with instructions, it offers clear support at key moments—guiding students, staff, and visitors when they need it, and quietly stepping back when they don’t. The result is a signage system that enhances the overall experience of the building, both functionally and visually.
Signage installation is currently underway, with more images to follow soon as the building comes to life.
